Restorative Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry In Mississauga

“Restorative dentistry” is the practice of replacing missing or damaged teeth using: fillings, crowns, bridges, implants and more. We aim to restore your smile to the one your recognize.

A missing or damaged tooth can impact your facial structure, your ability to chew, and the alignment of your teeth. Visit Dr. G. Caminschi Dentistry Professional Inc. an established dental practice in Mississauga, where we offer our patients a variety of options for restorative dentistry.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS

There is no one-size-fits-all treatment to restore the smiles of patients. We evaluate them thoroughly, one mouth at a time to recommend the best restorative solution designed just for you.

Fillings

We use tooth-coloured mercury-free composite fillings to repair cavities and tooth damage.

Composite fillings are the ideal choice for patients who desire a natural looking option. Composite resins, or tooth-coloured fillings, are a restorative material used to fix a cavity, a crack etc. They’re designed to withstand the pressure and stress of chewing. While not permanent, they last for many years before the need to be replaced and are esthetically pleasing.

Unlike metal fillings, during a cavity-filling procedure, composite fillings bond directly with the tooth. Amalgam filling is often used for filling the back teeth and is comparatively stronger and lasts longer.

Dental sealants

Tooth decay begins when consumed sugars form bacteria on teeth and produce an acid by-product that wears away enamel, developing grooves or cavities. Teeth with deep grooves are hard to clean and are prone to further decay. Dental sealants are a thin, plastic coating that are applied to the surface of molars and premolars to seal the grooves. Sealants last for many years, but are checked for wear and chipping during your regular dental checkups.

Dr. Caminschi applies sealants in an easy and efficient manner in-office. Application is quick and pain-free. With proper home care, a balanced diet and regular dental appointments, the longevity of the sealants can be improved.

Why do we recommend dental sealants?

  • Baby teeth are prone to cavities. If their teeth have deep grooves or depressions, sealants should be applied occasionally
  • Children aged 16 and under, who get their first permanent back teeth should get an application of sealant
  • Adults who don’t have a decayed tooth surface, but have deep grooves and depressions, should ask about a sealant treatment plan.
  • Sealants are durable and help to restore your beautiful smile.

Tips To Maintain Your Restorative Dental Work:

  • Brush your teeth, floss and rinse with an antibacterial mouthwash thoroughly twice a day
  • The use of  an electric toothbrush helps remove plaque from your teeth and restorative work
  • Do your best to stay away from hard or sticky foods that can damage your implant(s), bridge(s), or crown(s).
